We remodeled our clients' old playground. We demoed and disposed of the existing play equipment, added new one, poured a concrete trike track, and provided both a mix of Pour-in-Place rubber and Artificial Turf Playground safety surfacing

The Challenge

The challenge on this project was getting approval for permitting from the City. The permitting requirements are very strict in this area, which caused us to go through a couple rounds of plan revisions to get everything approved. The client hired Zoom because they wanted a vendor that could design and construct a full renovation, and help them navigate through their challenging permitting process.

Our Solution

We had to make some slight design revisions to our preliminary site plan to have the shade structure properly set back from our client's property lines, as well as their existing building, per code requirements. The shift in the shade structure footprint, forced us to adjust the trike track and surfacing design on-the-fly. Luckily, since we are equipped to make design revisions swiftly, we were able to pivot and still keep the project on track, and on budget.
