Zoom Recreation provides commercial shade structures backed by comprehensive manufacturer warranty coverage. Our team is available to help you understand your warranty, gather the required documentation, and coordinate eligible claims with the applicable manufacturer.
Warranty coverage begins on the original invoice date and applies once the product has been paid for in full. Coverage is valid only when the product has been properly stored, assembled, installed, used, and maintained according to the manufacturer’s written instructions.
Qualifying shade structures and components include the following coverage:
Coverage applies to qualifying defects in materials, manufacturing workmanship, and structural integrity during normal use and under normal environmental conditions.
Product-specific warranty coverage may vary. The warranty documentation associated with the product and manufacturer will determine the final coverage terms.
Warranty coverage is valid only when the shade structure has been:
General care and maintenance must be performed according to the instructions provided at the time of delivery.
Qualifying structural steel frames include a 20-year Limited Warranty against structural failure caused by rust-through corrosion under normal environmental conditions.
When replacement parts are approved under this warranty, the manufacturer may provide replacement components according to the following schedule:
Qualifying workmanship related to the structural steel framework is covered for five years.
Structural steel coverage does not apply when damage is caused by:
Shipping, removal, labor, reinstallation, and other site-related costs may not be included in the warranty.
Qualifying factory-applied powder coating includes a five-year Limited Warranty for the original purchaser.
This warranty applies only to the original factory-applied finish. Damage caused by shipping, installation, vandalism, accidents, improper handling, or field modifications is not covered.
Any coating damage that occurs during shipping or installation must be touched up immediately and maintained periodically to prevent corrosion. Powder coat defects should be reported when installation is completed.

When applied and maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, qualifying powder coating is expected to meet the following standards after five years of exposure:
Qualifying traditional shade fabric manufactured with high-strength, low-shrinkage PTFE fiber and qualifying waterproof fabric include a 10-year Limited Warranty.
This coverage applies to qualifying defects in materials and manufacturing workmanship. It also covers qualifying sewing thread against damage caused by normal exposure to sunlight, weather, and water.
Qualifying fabric may also be covered against failure caused by:
When a fabric replacement is approved, the manufacturer may provide replacement fabric according to the following schedule:
Labor, removal, reinstallation, freight, and other project-related expenses may not be included.
Red and yellow fabrics are covered against significant fading for two years.
Minor color variation, normal weathering, and changes that do not materially affect the performance of the fabric may not qualify as warrantable defects.
When the corners of the fabric include both a reinforced fabric opening and a reinforcing strap, both attachment points must be placed over the corresponding corner hook.
Failure to properly secure both the fabric opening and reinforcing strap may void the fabric warranty.
Fabric coverage may also be voided when:
Fabric curtains, valances, and flat vertical fabric panels are not covered under this warranty.
Qualifying shade fabric is warranted for:
Shade fabric must be removed when damaging winds are forecast.
Damage caused by snow or ice accumulation is not covered. Canopies should be removed during the off-season and whenever severe weather conditions may exceed the structure or fabric’s engineered limits.
Qualifying shade structures may be rated for winds up to 90 mph or 105 mph only when the shade canopy has been removed according to the manufacturer’s requirements.
Removal and reinstallation must be performed by a qualified professional or authorized installer.
The warranty is void if changes, modifications, additions, or attachments are made to the shade structure without prior written approval from the manufacturer.
Signs, ornaments, fans, lights, fixtures, decorations, or other objects may not be attached to or suspended from the structure unless they were specifically designed and engineered for the structure or have received written manufacturer approval.
Warranty coverage does not include damage or failure resulting from:
The owner must notify Zoom Recreation within 30 days after discovering a potential defect and before making or attempting any alteration or repair.

Zoom Recreation will review the submitted information and coordinate the claim with the applicable manufacturer. The manufacturer reserves the right to inspect the product and determine whether the issue resulted from defective materials, manufacturing workmanship, installation, maintenance, use, or another cause.
Contact Zoom Recreation About a Warranty Claim
The applicable manufacturer may repair or replace an approved defective component at its discretion. A defective component does not automatically entitle the customer to a completely new shade structure.
The manufacturer may alter the design, color, material, or other contributing factors of a replacement component to correct the condition and help prevent it from occurring again.
Unless otherwise approved in writing, warranty coverage does not include:
The customer may be responsible for returning the affected product or component for inspection along with proof of purchase.
No representative may change, expand, or add to the manufacturer’s warranty obligations unless the change is authorized in writing.
For the purpose of this warranty, “lifetime” does not represent a specific number of years. It refers to the period during which the original customer owns the product and continues to use it for its intended purpose.
Lifetime coverage does not include damage caused by vandalism, misuse, abuse, unauthorized modifications, altered components, cosmetic damage, fading, weathering, or normal wear and tear.
Warranty claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period and accompanied by the original sales order or invoice number.
