Shipping Policy

Zoom Recreation coordinates commercial freight delivery for playground equipment, shade structures, site amenities, and other recreation products.

Because many products are oversized, heavy, or shipped in multiple packages, customers are responsible for preparing the delivery location and inspecting all items before accepting the shipment.

Special Delivery Requirements

Some delivery locations require additional freight services. These may include:

  • Liftgate service
  • Residential delivery
  • Limited-access delivery
  • Inside delivery
  • Delivery appointments
  • Guaranteed delivery dates or times
  • Other special handling requirements

Please request any required delivery services when placing your order.

Additional services may result in added freight charges. When delivery requirements are provided after an order has been placed, Zoom Recreation must review and authorize the additional charges before shipment.

Failure to request the appropriate services before shipment may result in delays, re-delivery charges, storage fees, or additional carrier fees.

Preparing for Delivery

Before your shipment arrives, please make sure:

  • The delivery address is correct and accessible
  • The location can accommodate a commercial freight truck
  • A responsible adult is available to receive and inspect the shipment
  • Appropriate equipment and personnel are available to unload the freight
  • Any required liftgate, appointment, residential, or limited-access services have been requested
  • The delivery area is clear and ready to receive the shipment

Delivery dates and times are estimates unless a guaranteed delivery service has been purchased.

Customer Inspection Responsibilities

It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that the correct products have been delivered.

Before signing the carrier’s delivery receipt or proof of delivery, the customer must:

  1. Confirm that the shipment is intended for the correct customer and project.
  2. Count all pallets, cartons, bundles, and individual pieces.
  3. Compare the number of items received with the quantity listed on the delivery receipt.
  4. Inspect all packaging and visible product surfaces for damage.
  5. Note all damage, missing items, shortages, or other discrepancies directly on the delivery receipt.
  6. Take clear photographs of the shipment, packaging, damaged areas, and delivery receipt.
  7. Keep a copy of the signed delivery receipt.

Do not sign the delivery receipt until the shipment has been counted and inspected.

Signing the Delivery Receipt

Signing the delivery receipt without noting damage, shortages, or other issues indicates that the shipment was received in good condition and in the correct quantity.

A general note such as “subject to inspection” may not be sufficient to support a freight claim. The delivery receipt should clearly describe the visible condition of the shipment and identify any missing items.

Example:

One carton damaged and three cartons missing.

Leaving a note or providing instructions that authorize the carrier to leave the shipment without a signature may be treated as accepting the shipment in good condition.

Zoom Recreation is not responsible for freight that a customer authorizes the carrier to leave unattended or without a signature.

Unloading the Shipment

For standard less-than-truckload freight shipments, the driver is generally responsible for moving the freight to the rear of the trailer. The driver is not responsible for unloading the shipment unless an additional unloading service was requested and approved in advance.

The customer is responsible for providing:

  • A forklift, pallet jack, loading dock, or other appropriate unloading equipment
  • Sufficient personnel to unload the shipment safely
  • Clear and accessible space for unloading
  • Any required permits, access approvals, or site coordination

Liftgate and inside-delivery services may be available for an additional charge. These services must be requested before shipment.

Requesting special services after the carrier arrives may result in re-delivery charges, waiting fees, or delivery refusal.

Damaged Shipments and Shortages

The customer must count the shipment and document all visible damage or shortages on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing it.

Damage to cartons, pallets, wrapping, strapping, crates, or exposed products should be described clearly.

Examples of issues that should be documented include:

  • Crushed or torn cartons
  • Broken pallets
  • Missing cartons or bundles
  • Exposed or scratched components
  • Bent or damaged materials
  • Broken wrapping or straps
  • Water damage
  • Visible impact damage

Photographs should be taken before the shipment is unloaded whenever safely possible.

Reporting a Freight Issue

All delivery discrepancies, shortages, and visible damage should be reported to Zoom Recreation immediately.

Please contact us within 24 hours whenever possible and no later than 72 hours after delivery.

Your report should include:

  • Zoom Recreation sales order or invoice number
  • Customer and project name
  • Delivery address
  • Delivery date
  • Carrier name
  • Tracking or freight number
  • A copy of the signed delivery receipt
  • Photographs of the complete shipment
  • Photographs of all damaged packaging and products
  • A list of missing or damaged items
  • A description of the issue

Report a Shipping Issue

Zoom Recreation will review the information and assist with the freight claim when applicable.

Concealed Damage

Concealed damage is damage that was not visible while the shipment was packaged and was discovered after the shipment was opened.

Concealed damage must be reported immediately after discovery. Keep all packaging, pallets, wrapping, and damaged materials until the carrier or Zoom Recreation confirms that they may be discarded.

Freight carriers may deny concealed damage claims that are not reported promptly.

Zoom Recreation cannot guarantee that replacement products or parts will be provided at no charge for concealed, undocumented, or unreported damage.

Freight Claim Limitations

The freight carrier is generally responsible for shipment damage or shortages only when the condition is documented on the delivery receipt.

When damage or missing items are not noted before the delivery receipt is signed:

  • The carrier may deny the freight claim
  • Zoom Recreation may be unable to recover the replacement cost
  • Replacement products, parts, freight, and related expenses may become the customer’s financial responsibility

Zoom Recreation will make a reasonable effort to assist with locating missing freight or filing a concealed damage claim, but approval is determined by the carrier and is not guaranteed.

Estimated and Guaranteed Delivery

Standard delivery dates and times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Freight schedules may be affected by:

  • Carrier availability
  • Weather
  • Traffic
  • Mechanical issues
  • Regional service limitations
  • Site accessibility
  • Missed delivery appointments
  • Events outside Zoom Recreation’s control

When a shipment must arrive by a specific date or time, a guaranteed delivery quote must be requested before the order ships.

Guaranteed services may not be available for every product, destination, or carrier.

Customer-Arranged Transportation

Customers who prefer to arrange their own transportation must notify Zoom Recreation’s freight team before the order is scheduled for shipment.

The customer is responsible for coordinating the carrier, pickup appointment, loading requirements, insurance, and transportation.

Orders not picked up within three business days after pickup notification may be subject to a storage fee of $50 per day, per order.

Delivery Refusal and Re-Delivery Charges

Customers should not refuse a shipment solely because damage is visible unless the shipment is severely damaged, unsafe to unload, or the carrier instructs the customer to refuse it.

When possible, note the damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the shipment, accept the undamaged items, and contact Zoom Recreation immediately.

A customer may be responsible for re-delivery, storage, return freight, or related carrier charges when delivery cannot be completed because:

  • No authorized person is available to receive the shipment
  • The delivery location is inaccessible
  • Appropriate unloading equipment is unavailable
  • Required delivery services were not requested
  • The customer refuses an otherwise deliverable shipment
  • Incorrect delivery information was provided

Shipping Policy Acknowledgment

By accepting delivery, the customer acknowledges responsibility for inspecting, counting, documenting, and reporting the shipment according to this policy.

Failure to follow these procedures may affect the customer’s ability to receive replacement products, replacement parts, freight reimbursement, or other assistance related to a shipping claim.
